Romantica is reminiscent of a Victorian chatelaine where right angle weave comes together with a jeweled medallion to make this very romantic necklace.
This intermediate to advanced project is worn long around the neck and swings with the varied components creating this graceful necklace. Several variations of the chain will be made using different sizes, materials and counts to create a diverse necklace.

A graceful teardrop shape surrounds a glittering Swarovski rivoli. The teardrop is covered with right angle weave and the peyote bezels are encrusted with pearls and crystals that accent the center stone. A crystal studded spiral neckchain completes the design.
This is an intermediate to advanced class with focuses both on right angle weave and peyote.

You will delight in making and wearing this exquisitely designed bracelet. Each of five beads is made using the versatility of right angle weave. The beads are surface embellished with a variety of techniques making each one its own unique piece of art. The completed beads are strung with the added sparkle and design element of Swarovski crystal and separated with faceted stones. A unique ring and toggle complete the beautiful bracelet.

SOGNO D’ORO with Maggie Meister – February 6, 2009
Sogno d’oro was inspired by a necklace Maggie saw in a rather large and expensive book at the National Museum in Naples, Italy. Not wanting to carry such a large book or pay the amount of Euro that was wanted, I proceed to sketch the necklace on the back of her checkbook. When Maggie returned home, she made the necklace based on her “so-called” sketch and her memory.
When Maggie returned the following year, the book was no longer available and she started to search for it. She finally found a book from the 1940s that had the collection in black and white. There was the necklace and it looked nothing like my sketch or what she remembered. She reworked the necklace to what you see today.
The original was found in Metaponto that was a part of the Magna Grecia section of the Greek Empire in Southern Italy. Some of the necklace is missing but it is made of gold with granulation and quite a bit of detail.
Class fee for this 1-class is $90. If you wish to sign up for all 3 days of Maggie’s classes including the Santa Sofhia Necklace, the cost will be $225.00 plus your supplies.

SANTA SOFIA PENDANT & SEPTER BEADS with Maggie Meister – February 7 & 8, 2009
Santa Sofia and Scepter Beads have evolved over the past 2 years. There are variations of Santa Sofia that will be covered in the workshop and supplies vary depending on the style you wish to make. The supply lists are based on the different variations.
