ANCESTRAL MEDALLION with Met Innmon

Friday, February 13, 2015 - 10 am to 4 pm

Inspired by the lines and shapes of an 19th century Parisian necklace whose own design was influenced by Roman Pompeian archeological finds and Hellenistic Greek fringe necklaces, the "Ancestral Medallion" necklace is a contemporary expression of classic beauty uniting mixed elements of these diverse periods. individual medallions are structured using peyote stitch and are decoratively domed and spanned with a netted webbing. Framing the medallions, peyote stitched long drop fringe and balanced with triangular shaped peyote tubes to produce an elegant graceful curvature around the wearer's neck.
