Please welcome Ravit Stoltz for a beautiful and unusual 1/2 day workshop.

Saturday, August 27, 2016 - 1 pm to 4 pm

Wednesday, August 31, 2016 1 pm to 4 pm

This beautiful necklace is very unique due to its square shape. It is fun and easy to make.

You will find yourself trying all kinds of color variations. Due to the thickness of the necklace, you'll have to add an inch to the actual length you want to make. For example, if you want to make an 18" long necklace; make it 19" in length.

Techniques used are right angle weave and peyote stitch.

Skill level is for the intermediate to advanced beader who is familiar with right angle weave. The price of this workshop is $45.00.

Also please welcome back Sarah Stempel who will again offer her wonderful workshop on bead embroidery.

Wednesday, July 13th, 2016 - 1 pm to 4 pm AND July 20, 2016 - 1 pm to 4 pm

We are planning a return workshop - check here for the new dates!

Local artist, Sarah Stempel brings a different perspective to the world of bead embroidery. Sarah's strength is her ability to use either one color or a monochromatic color scheme for the base and truly focus on the focal bead or beads.

Do you have beautiful family jewelry pieces that you love but aren't sure what to do with? How about a beautiful button that you had to have but have no idea how to showcase it? Or have been admiring a vintage stone or cameo that you love? Come spend an afternoon learning how to turn these treasures into a bracelet.

This class is for any level beader. I promise you'll get hooked.

The cost of this workshop is $90.00.

Melanie Potter is on her way! We can't wait.

She has 3 beautiful pieces starting with:

THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO with Melanie Potter

Thursday, September 15, 2016 - 10 am to 4 pm

The spirit in which Mozart wrote The Marriage of Figaro was one of mirth and light-hearted comedy. This necklace exudes a similar effervescence with its openwork medallion foundation onto which all other components are stitched. The medallion features a cubic zirconia and pearl center with strands of tiny pearls woven together to form a twisted rope of alternating colors around its diameter.

The smaller bezels feature small zircons with embellishments that float over the edge. The three-strand necklace matches the materials used on the medallion, creating a cohesive ensemble. The clasp features a focal component that matches to the center of the medallion creating a continuity in the composition and secures with a hidden rare-earth magnet.

The skill level required for this workshop is intermediate with a knowledge of chevron chain, peyote, and stringing.

The cost of this workshop is $90 but can be combined with other Melanie workshops for a discounted rate of $75 per each workshop.

LAURELIA (Necklace) with Melanie Potter

Friday, September 16, 2016 - 10 am to 4 pm

Laurelia is inspired by the beautiful Peruvian nutmeg tree which is an evergreen tree with rice pearl-shaped buds and fringed flowers. Laurelia showcases fancy flowers along the front neckline stitched in peyote and fringing with a zircon setting at the center. These flowers are linked together and attached to the necklace.

The necklace features budding vines at the center with a cord woven in Herringbone surrounding the vine to provide definition and strength to the necklace. Both ends of the cord are wrapped with zircon bezels to provide additional visual interest. The clasp incorporates the same style of flower with a hidden earth magnet and latch to create a secure closure.

The skill level required for this workshop if intermediate and used peyote (circular and flat), herringbone, and fringing.

The cost of this workshop is $90 but can be combined with other Melanie workshops for a discounted rate of $75 per each workshop.

SWING OF THINGS (Necklace) with Melanie Potter

Saturday, September 17, 2016 - 10 am to 4 pm

Like the idiom, "the swing of things", which represents the normal flow and rhythm of daily life, so too this necklace is a fanciful interpretation of a pendulum embodying this expression. Pendulums are a fitting visual representation of the ebb and flow of life. Someone wise once said, "Remember this...Life is like a pendulum. When things go down, they will swing back up."

Using peyote, chevron chain and embellishing this long svelte pendulum necklace is full of potential for any wardrobe.

Skill level required for this workshop is intermediate.

The cost of this workshop is $90 but can be combined with other Melanie workshops for a discounted rate of $75 per each workshop.
